I’ll be honest, this Bloody Good Dinners cookbook wasn’t part of the plan. After years of building my brand around Disney-inspired dinners and all things “cutesy,” and SEVEN cookbooks, I’d decided to take a break from new cookbooks. Not a cute one. Not a family-friendly, everyone-hold-hands one. I wanted something that made people’s jaws drop: a little more gore, a lot more attitude, and recipes that would make Freddy, Jason, and Ghostface fight over the last serving. I came home that night, grabbed my notebook, and in a fit of inspired madness, drafted out all the movies and a skeleton menu for each. The next two weeks were a blur: every night, a new horror movie, a new feast, a new kitchen mess. Ironically, for something I almost didn’t make, this is some of my best work ever.
