Cars is one of those for me – not just because it’s a Disney classic, but because of the memories attached to it. When my nephew was little, Cars wasn’t just a movie. It was a full-blown phase. The kind where Lightning McQueen is everything and Radiator Springs feels like a real place.

We took him to Disneyland for the first time when he was just two. When he turned three, he got a season pass, and visiting Cars Land quickly became our thing. Auntie and nephew trips to Radiator Springs a couple times a month. Watching his face light up every single time Lightning came roaring by never got old.

So when it came time to plan a Cars movie night, I knew this one needed to be special.

And honestly? This might be my favorite snack board yet.

Why I Love This Board So Much

This board is pure theme without being complicated. Every item ties back to the movie, but everything is easy, familiar, and kid-approved. It’s the kind of spread that works just as well for little kids as it does for nostalgic adults who secretly love Cars just as much.

How the Cars Snack Board Comes Together

We start with the base.

Right down the center of the snack board, I added a road sticker to create a highway running through the middle. This instantly sets the scene and gives you a built-in place to stage the main characters.

Next up – favorite detail.

Race Car Hot Dogs

These are so simple and so cute.

• Hot dogs + buns
• Pickle slices for tires
• Toothpicks to secure the “wheels”
• Car eye cutouts (found here on Etsy)

Once assembled, I placed them directly on the road as if they’re cruising down Route 66. It’s such a small touch, but it makes the whole board feel intentional and fun.

Snack Stops Around Radiator Springs

From there, we filled in the rest of the board with themed snacks:

• Cozy Cones
  Cheddar Bugles. That’s it. Zero notes.

• Mater’s Taters
  Classic potato chips.

• Spare Parts
  Trail mix – easy, grabby, and perfect for movie night.

• Nuts and Bolts
  Peanut M&Ms mixed with peanuts.

• Luigi’s Casa Della Tires
  Mini chocolate donuts stacked to look like tires. One of my favorite visual moments on the board.

• Stop Lights
  Premade brownies with M&Ms pressed on top. I grabbed store-bought brownies to keep this simple, but you could absolutely make your own if you want.

Fuel Station Details

One of my favorite components on this board is the fuel drink cups.

We’re very close with our friends and their kids, and they love these cups – so I always have them on hand. They worked perfectly here. I filled them with water, but they can hold whatever you want: juice, soda, lemonade… dealer’s choice.

I also added a printed Rust-Eze label to a bottle of soda, which was such a fun nod for the grown-ups watching.

Bringing Radiator Springs to Life

To finish it all off, I printed a set of Radiator Springs signs from Etsy. Cozy Cone Motel, Route 66, Flo’s Café—these details are what really make the board feel immersive.

I taped each sign to a skewer and anchored them into small brownie pieces to keep everything standing upright. Easy, sturdy, and completely invisible once everything is styled.

This board looks like a lot—but it truly isn’t.
