If you’ve ever wished your kitchen could feel like Casita, alive, colorful, and full of personality – this Encanto dinner and a movie night might just make that dream come true.

When I first saw Encanto, I was instantly enchanted by the vibrant food, the music, and of course, the magical Madrigal family. Every frame bursts with color and flavor, so it only felt right to bring that energy into the kitchen for our next Dinner and a Movie Night.

You can grab the full Encanto menu (plus 11 other movie nights like The Lilo & Stitch, Peter Pan, Cinderella and more) in my Once Upon a Dinner and a Movie Cookbook. It is complete with printable menus, recipes, and drink pairings to make your next Disney dinner night pure magic.

Why Encanto Is the Perfect Disney Dinner Theme

This movie is a love letter to family, food, and culture, three of my favorite things. Every dish I created for this Encanto themed dinner is a nod to the warmth of Colombian cooking and the vivid storytelling that makes this film so special.

From Julieta’s healing arepas to Abuela’s comforting dulce de leche dessert, each bite tells a story about love, tradition, and a little bit of magic.

Whether you’re planning a cozy Encanto family dinner or a full-blown Encanto party night, this menu is made to impress.

Encanto Dinnerand a Movie Night Menu

Drink: Family Madrigal Paloma
Appetizer: Julieta’s Arepas con Queso
Main Course: Magical Madrigal Carne Asada with We Don’t Talk About Chimichurri and Maribel’s Arroz con Coco
Dessert: Abuelita’s Dulce de Leche Turnovers

Family Madrigal Paloma

A sparkling grapefruit Paloma with a Fairytale Foodie twist. This drink is fruity, slightly floral, and absolutely stunning.

I rimmed the glass with blue sugar (to honor Mirabel’s signature color) and added a butterfly garnish for that unmistakable Encanto magic. One sip, and you’ll feel ready to dance through the kitchen like Isabela making flowers bloom.

Tip: You can make this one alcohol-free by swapping the tequila for sparkling grapefruit soda. It’s a hit for both kids and adults at any Encanto movie night.

Julieta’s Arepas con Queso

You can’t have an Encanto dinner without arepas. Inspired by Julieta’s gift of healing through food, these are golden, cheesy, and slightly crisp on the outside, soft and comforting inside.

They’re made with simple ingredients (masa, cheese, butter, and salt), but the flavor is pure magic. Perfect as an appetizer or side dish for your Colombian inspired recipes.

Serve them warm with a little butter and a sprinkle of salt. Trust me, Julieta would approve.

Magical Madrigal Carne Asada with We Don’t Talk About Chimichurri

This dish is the star of the show, flavorful grilled steak topped with a bright green chimichurri that we do talk about.

The marinade gives the meat a deep, smoky flavor, while the chimichurri adds fresh herbs, garlic, and a hint of heat. Together, they make a main course worthy of the Madrigal dinner table.

If you really want to impress, slice it thin and serve it on a wooden board surrounded by bowls of rice, lime wedges, and cilantro.

Maribel’s Arroz con Coco

This Colombian coconut rice might be the most comforting side dish ever. Sweet, nutty, and creamy, it balances the bold flavor of the carne asada perfectly.

It’s inspired by Maribel herself, unexpected, complex, and totally charming. The coconut milk adds a rich sweetness that’ll have everyone asking for seconds.

Abuelita’s Dulce de Leche Turnovers

For dessert, I wanted something that felt warm and nostalgic. This is a treat that could easily have been baked right in Abuela’s kitchen.

These puff pastry turnovers are filled with creamy dulce de leche, drizzled with vibrant icing, and decorated with butterflies and edible flowers. They’re delicate, colorful, and full of Encanto-inspired whimsy.

Each bite is sweet, flaky, and totally unforgettable. A perfect way to end your Encanto movie night.

Make Your Encanto Movie Night Magical

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I love turning dinner into an experience. For this night, I filled the table with bright colors, flowers, and soft candlelight. The goal? To make it feel like Casita itself might start moving.

You can recreate that vibe easily:

  • Use colorful table linens or flower garlands.
  • Play the Encanto soundtrack in the background.
  • Serve your Encanto dinner ideas family-style to capture that big, joyful Madrigal energy.
