If there’s one movie franchise that doesn’t need a bribe to get my husband involved, it’s Indiana Jones. The man loves adventure. And pasta. So when I told him our next themed dinner night was going to feature a creamy shrimp linguini, he was already reaching for his fedora.

This Indiana Jones movie night was pure nostalgia for me. I actually got to see the original Raiders of the Lost Ark on the Paramount lot during its 30th anniversary celebration, with both Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford there for a live Q&A. I was near the front, starstruck, grinning like I’d just found the Ark of the Covenant myself. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced. So naturally, I had to create a dinner night worthy of Indy himself.

You can’t have Indiana Jones without snakes. So naturally, the night kicked off with these coiled crescent roll breadsticks shaped like snakes, complete with peppercorn eyes and roasted tomato tongues. They’re buttery, flaky, and just the right mix of fun and creepy, the perfect adventure-themed dinner party starter.

(Plus, they double as a hilarious snack to serve while yelling “Why’d it have to be snakes?!” at your TV.)

Main Course: Lost Ark Linguini

This one was a showstopper – a creamy, cheesy shrimp linguini with a buttery garlic sauce and just the right amount of red pepper kick. It’s the kind of pasta that feels decadent but not fussy. This was hands-down my husband’s favorite part of the night, pasta is the key to his heart, and this one absolutely delivered. I called it Lost Ark Linguini because it’s a treasure in its own right.

For dessert, I got a little mischievous. These Snake Pit Cupcakes were inspired by one of the most memorable moments in the Indiana Jones series, that pit full of writhing snakes. But don’t worry, mine are much more delicious than dangerous.

Chocolate cupcakes topped with edible “explorer hats” made from Rolos and chocolate wafers, plus colorful snake toppers for extra flair. Each bite is rich, fudgy, and full of fun. It’s themed party food for adults and kids alike, and I promise no actual snakes were harmed in the making.

Drink: Bolder Dash Margarita

Of course, every explorer needs a drink to toast their victories (and narrowly escape rolling boulders). My Bolder Dash Margarita is a zesty blend of tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur, served over a giant cylindrical ice cube for dramatic effect.

It’s the kind of drink that screams adventure — bright, bold, and just a little dangerous. You can easily make a mocktail version with sparkling limeade or orange soda for a family-friendly dinner theme.

Every dish in this Indiana Jones dinner felt like a mini treasure hunt, from shaping the snake breadsticks to crafting those tiny chocolate hats. My kitchen may not have booby traps (unless you count the cats waiting underfoot), but it definitely had that spirit of exploration.

We laughed, quoted Indy, and probably said “It belongs in a museum!” more times than necessary. By the end of the night, our table looked like an artifact from an archaeologist themed party food exhibit…empty plates, cookie crumbs, and margarita glasses everywhere.
