The Ultimate Jurassic Park Movie Night Snack Board

Life Finds a Way… And So Do Dino Nuggets

Jurassic Park is hands down one of my favorite movies of all time.

Hands down. No debate. No notes.

As a kid, I was obsessed. As an adult, I am still obsessed. And honestly, the idea of Jurassic World being real feels like an actual dream come true. Real life dinosaurs. In theory. Until you remember they are terrifying and would absolutely eat you first.

So last year, the very first thing I did to kick off the new year was create a full Jurassic Park Dinner and a Movie night. Which meant this year, I had to go even bigger.

Enter the most epic Jurassic Park Movie Night Snack Board I have ever made.

This board was nostalgic, playful, wildly fun to style, and honestly one of my favorite snack boards to date. Every single item is a nod to the movie. Some obvious. Some deep cuts. All intentional.

Before we move on – because I KNOW you are going to ask – here 👇 are links for everything I used on this board from the props to the food!

Ok, now let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

The Spared No Expense Volcano

A Viral Moment Worthy of Isla Nublar

Front and center is the star of the board.
The Spared No Expense Volcano.

We have all seen the viral giant mashed potato volcano with dino nuggets floating around the internet for the last few years! I have always wanted to incorporate this into my content some way – but I do not have kids – it is just my husband and me, and it just seemed like such a waste of food for just the two of us. Then, this summer, I saw this single serving volcano idea floating around Instagram over the and immediately knew it belonged in a Jurassic Park setup. It felt like the perfect centerpiece. Dramatic. Nostalgic. A little ridiculous in the best way.

We used coupe-style glasses to build individual volcano cups. They do not make these exact ones anymore, but I linked similar coupe glasses that work perfectly.

Inside each glass:

  • Creamy mashed potatoes built up into a volcano shape
  • Steamed broccoli tucked around the sides for that jungle vibe
  • Dino nuggets climbing the mountain
  • And finally, warm gravy poured over the top for the eruption

If you are thinking yes this is absurd and also incredible, you are correct.

Raptor Egg Nests

Because Somewhere, Raptors Are Watching

These might be one of my favorite details on the board.

I just love to make a good nest for my boards! If you remember the Jurassic Park Dinner and a Movie from last year, I made this EPIC potato Raptor nest, so I definitely had to give it a little sweet flair on this board.

Herb-roasted baby potatoes nestled in crispy kataifi nests, garnished with edible flower petals and parsley

For this board, Raptor Egg Nests were made by forming potato sticks with melted chocolate into small nests on individual plates. (I know it sounds weird – but chocolate covered potato chips are just 🧑‍🍳😘 – think salty and sweet.) While the chocolate was still warm, I sprinkled crushed Biscoff cookies on top to create that classic dirt look.

The eggs are just donut holes. Simple. Genius. Delicious.

They look like something Dr. Grant would absolutely stumble upon while cautiously backing away.

Dr. Grant’s Dig Site

You Did Not Ask If You Could. You Asked If You Should.

This one came out way too good.

Dr. Grant’s Dig Site is made with crushed Biscoff cookies as the base and white chocolate covered pretzels to look like bones. I added tiny shovel spoons because I have zero self control and they were perfect.

It feels like a fossil excavation. Which, if we are being honest, is exactly what we all wanted to be as kids after watching Jurassic Park.

Extra Dino Nuggets

Because Life Finds a Way. And So Do We.

Listen. I love a fancy snack board.

But we are also a protein loving household, and sometimes the kids are onto something. These dino nuggets straight out of the air fryer were shockingly good.

We added a separate bowl of extra dino nuggets because:

  1. They disappear fast
  2. Adults secretly love them
  3. Raptors would absolutely steal these first

No regrets.

Life Finds a Way Dinosaur Cookies

A Classic Line for a Classic Snack

Mother’s brand dinosaur cookies were a must.

I added a simple tag that says Life Finds a Way, because if there was ever a movie quote that deserved to live on a snack board, it is that one.

Instant nostalgia.

🎬Keep the Magic Going…

Lex’s Iconic Green Jell O

Clever Girl

You cannot do a Jurassic Park board without green Jell O.

This is a direct nod to Lex at the computer, jiggling spoon in hand, while raptors are casually attempting to ruin her day.

We labeled these Clever Girl, and if you know, you know.

Nedry’s Butterfingers

This one is for the real Jurassic Park fans.

The Butterfingers are a direct nod to the iconic exchange between John Hammond and Dennis Nedry, when Hammond looks him dead in the eye and says, “Dennis, our lives are in your hands and you have butterfingers?”

If you know the scene, you know exactly why this deserved a spot on the board.

It perfectly sums up Nedry’s entire arc. Brilliant. Bitter. Underpaid. Deeply unappreciated. And constantly reminding everyone that nothing is ever his fault.

Between the candy bar reference and that exchange alone, Butterfingers felt like the only correct choice.

Mr. DNA Samples

Because Science

Nerd Clusters became Mr. DNA immediately.

Bright, colorful, and they look just like him! It is one of those details that makes people smile when they catch it.

Mosquito in Amber

An Iconic Moment Frozen in Sugar

I found scorpion lollipops at my local gas station (Arizona things haha) that were simply too perfect not to use. I found some similar ones on Amazon, in case you can’t find them near you – just click the photo and you’ll be redirected.

They became our Mosquito in Amber, referencing the entire reason this movie exists in the first place. One mosquito. One terrible idea. One incredible franchise.

Jurassic Juice Boxes

The Final Touch

To finish the board, I added Good Grow juice boxes featuring a T Rex and a raptor. They were the perfect height for the back of the board and tied the whole thing together.

Also, kids and adults both appreciate a juice moment.

How I Assembled the Board

Because Layout Matters

Here is the exact order I used to build the board so it felt full but not overwhelming:

  • Started with the volcano cups in the back for height
  • Added the raptor egg nests and extra dino nuggets next
  • Placed the dig site in the center
  • Added the dinosaur cookies
  • Then the green Jell O
  • Followed by the Mr. DNA candies
  • Then Nedry’s Butterfingers
  • Added the juice boxes in the back corners
  • Filled gaps with popcorn
  • Finished by placing the lollipops for added height

This layering keeps the board visually interesting from every angle.
