A Personal Pit Stop: Cherished Memories from Cars Land
When my nephew was two – I got to take him on his first Disneyland trip. I had a season pass and Disneyland quickly became our sacred nephew and auntie time – I’d pick him up from his parents and we would spend the entire day running around Disneyland. Cars wasn’t just a movie for us – it was an obsession. Every time we went to Disneyland, we made a beeline for Cars Land, exploring the brightly colored streets of Radiator Springs. I still remember his excitement when he saw Lightning McQueen roll out for a meet-and-greet. It was pure magic.
One of my favorite memories was experiencing Radiator Springs with him right after it opened. We shared churros, watched the Radiator Springs Racers zoom by, and laughed until our cheeks hurt. He especially loved To-Mater’s ride, and I cherish the memories we shared more than anything. Those moments inspired me to recreate that sense of wonder at home, with themed dinners that turn a simple meal into cherished memories.
