Why Scooby-Doo?

I’ve always loved how Scooby-Doo balances mystery with mayhem. It’s goofy, spooky, and full of comfort-food energy, basically everything I want in a Halloween dinner party.

Plus, this movie night gave me an excuse to make one of the most ridiculous sandwiches of my life… and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was my husband’s favorite of all 15 Halloween dinners I made this year. (Yes, fifteen. Send help—and bread.)

It’s also one of the only nights you’ll catch me in front of the camera instead of behind it, because that Spook-Wich deserved a spotlight moment.

Mystery Machine Crunchies

Every mystery starts with snacks, and this one’s easy—just grab your favorite cheesy chips (we used Doritos!) and call it a day. The bright orange crunch pairs perfectly with the chaotic energy of the gang. It’s the kind of snack you’d imagine Scooby and Shaggy devouring before a ghost chase.

Scooby’s Stacked Spook-Wich

If this sandwich had a catchphrase, it’d be: “Like, wow, man!”

Seventeen layers of pure sandwich madness. We’re talking turkey, roast beef, ham, bacon, pepperoni, Colby Jack, Monterey Jack, and pepper jack cheese—because obviously one cheese isn’t enough when you’re feeding a Great Dane. Then pile on red onion, tomato, lettuce, pepperoncini, pickles, mustard, and mayo, all between slices of garlic bread.

Top it off with olive “eyes” on toothpicks for the full Scooby-approved effect.

It’s messy. It’s extra. It’s so dang good.

The best part? The whole thing takes about 5 minutes in the oven to toast up that garlicky bread. No fancy tricks, no mystery ingredients—just the ultimate cartoon-style sandwich brought to life.

For a little spooky sidekick, I served frozen smiley fries—because let’s be honest, they fit the vibe perfectly. They’re easy, nostalgic, and just creepy enough for a horror-themed menu. These are a must-have for any spooky movie night menu, especially if you’re feeding kids (or adults who act like them).

We’re Like a Banana Split, Buddy

There’s a scene in the live-action Scooby-Doo movie where Shaggy says the gang is “like a banana split”… and then everyone quits. So obviously, dessert had to play off that moment.

We made Halloween-style brownie banana splits topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, ghost-shaped bananas (with chocolate chip eyes!), and loads of spooky sprinkles. It’s equal parts chaos and comfort, just like Mystery Inc.

Spooky Scooby Snack (Cocktail + Mocktail)

No Scooby feast is complete without a drink! The Spooky Scooby Snack is a creamy green dream that looks straight out of the Mystery Machine.

The glass rims are coated in white frosting and rolled in bright Halloween sprinkles, topped with a ghost-shaped Peep and a Scooby Snack graham cookie. It’s fun, colorful, and honestly, a party all on its own.

Make it a cocktail with melon liqueur and coconut rum, or keep it kid-friendly with pineapple juice and coconut milk. Either way, it’s a total crowd-pleaser.

Out of all the Halloween menus I’ve done this year, this might be the most approachable one yet. Every element is simple, fast, and nostalgic, but when you put it all together, it feels like you went all out.

Between the giant sandwich, the over-the-top milkshakes, and that ridiculous dessert, it’s impossible not to smile (pun fully intended).
