Scream Themed Movie Night Snack Board

I have always considered Scream one of those movies I grew up with.

You know what I mean. It was THE scary movie of my generation.

Ghostface. Sidney Prescott. Casey Becker answering that phone. Stu being completely unhinged. Randy explaining the rules for surviving a horror movie. And, of course, the question that has been burned into our brains since 1996:

“What’s your favorite scary movie?”

So when I decided to create a whole season of spooky movie night snack boards, there was absolutely no way I was leaving Scream out.

And then Angry Orchard came out with a Scream-themed cider this year and basically sealed the deal.

I saw it and immediately thought, WHOA. I need to make a Scream board.

And honestly? I had SO much fun with this one.

I will drop the homemade tags I used for this board at the bottom of this post!

A Scream Movie Night in Woodsboro

One of my favorite things about making movie night boards is finding foods that aren’t just spooky or cute, but actually connect back to the movie.

And Scream gave me SO much to work with.

The original movie has food scattered throughout it in these little moments that you probably don’t think much about until you’re specifically hunting for things to put on a snack board.

Suddenly I’m watching Sidney and Tatum at the fountain thinking, GRAPES. THERE ARE GRAPES.

😂

So this board became a mix of actual movie references, some Ghostface-inspired treats, and classic movie-night snacks.

And yes, there is Jiffy Pop.

There HAD to be Jiffy Pop.

What’s On My Scream Snack Board?

First up, Jiffy Pop popcorn.

If you’ve seen the opening of Scream, you already know why.

Casey Becker is home alone making Jiffy Pop when that phone call turns into pretty much every ’90s teenager’s worst nightmare.

You cannot make a Scream snack board without it. I don’t make the rules.

Actually, Randy probably does.

Then I added Sidney and Tatum’s grapes, inspired by the scene at the Woodsboro High fountain when Sidney, Tatum, Stu and Randy are sitting around talking about Casey and Steve’s murders.

It’s such a simple little reference, but those are always my favorites.

I also added chips and salsa, inspired by Sidney and Tatum’s trip to the grocery store after the town goes into curfew.

They’re literally stocking up on snacks because they’re planning to spend the night together while Woodsboro is losing its collective mind.

Honestly, relatable.

If Ghostface is running around town, I’m also getting snacks first.

Then we have Dewey’s strawberry ice cream, inspired by the scene with Dewey and Sheriff Burke at the Riley house.

It’s another one of those tiny movie details that made the PERFECT board reference.

And because this is Scream, I obviously needed a little blood.

I made bloody red velvet cupcakes topped with vanilla frosting, red “blood” and the cutest little Scream-inspired cupcake toppers.

The Scream Angry Orchard

This is actually the thing that kicked off the entire board.

Angry Orchard released a limited-edition Scream-themed hard cider for spooky season, and the second I saw that Ghostface can, I knew exactly what needed to happen.

It was basically begging to be put on a movie night board.

The can fits the whole board ridiculously well and makes such a fun drink option for an adults-only Scream movie night.

Ghostface Mini Pizzas

Okay.

THE STAR OF THE BOARD.

Look at these little guys.

Homemade Ghostface mini pizza for a Scream movie night

I knew I wanted one food that immediately screamed Scream even if you took away every tag and decoration.

Ghostface pizzas were the answer.

And these were ridiculously easy to make.

I started with premade individual pizza crusts and cut them into the long, stretched shape of the Ghostface mask.

Then I topped each one with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.

For the face, I grabbed extra-large pepperoni and cut pieces into the shapes for Ghostface’s eyes and that long open mouth.

Then I baked them according to the directions on my pizza crust package, which was about 11 minutes.

And BOOM.

Perfect little Ghostface pizzas.

They’re creepy, instantly recognizable and SO easy to recreate.

Plus, unlike answering a random phone call while home alone, making them has a pretty low chance of ending badly.

The Finished Scream Movie Night Board

Once everything came together, this ended up being one of those boards where I just kept staring at it.

The Ghostface pizzas.

The bloody cupcakes.

The Jiffy Pop.

The Woodsboro-inspired snacks.

The Scream Angry Orchard.

It feels like the movie without needing every single thing to have Ghostface slapped on it.

That’s always my goal with these boards.

I want someone who loves the movie to look closely and start catching the references.

“WAIT. Is that Dewey’s ice cream?”

YES.

“Are those the grapes from the fountain?”

YESSSSS.

Those little details are what make themed movie nights so much fun.

So grab your snacks, turn off the lights and head back to Woodsboro.

Just maybe don’t answer the phone.

And whatever you do, don’t say you’ll “be right back.”

Randy warned us.
