The Star Wars Charcuterie Board That Made My Husband Fawn Like a Proud Ewok
I have made this cheeseball probably four times now. And every single time I put it on the table, my husband completely loses it. Not in a polite, supportive spouse kind of way. In a genuine, stops what he is doing, picks it up to look at it from multiple angles, calls it cute out loud kind of way. From the man who grew up quoting every line of the original trilogy and has Very Strong Opinions about the prequels. The Ewok cheeseball gets him every time.
But this year I decided the cheeseball deserved a whole galaxy around it.
I have been making Star Wars themed food since 2022, and this board is honestly the most fun I have had building one from scratch. It started with the portable charcuterie board my mother-in-law got me when we moved, which is genuinely one of my most used kitchen items at this point. This is the exact board and it is perfect for prepping ahead for guests, for movie nights, or in this case for sustaining us through an entire annual Star Wars rewatch. The clear lid means you can build it, close it up, and carry it wherever you need it without anything shifting. It is a game changer.
If you want the full Star Wars Dinner and Movie Night that goes with this board, that post is right here: Star Wars Dinner and Movie Night. And if you are planning a full Star Wars Day spread, I also have a Star Wars Snack Board and a Star Wars Brunch Board to round out your whole May the 4th lineup.

Ewoks on Endor Cheeseball
This little guy is the anchor of the whole board and has been since the first time I made him. Cream cheese and sharp cheddar base, seasoned with Worcestershire and garlic powder, shaped into a ball, chilled until firm, and then decorated with sliced salami for the fur, black olive pieces for the eyes and nose, and crackers tucked into the sides for ears. He is small. He is wrapped in salami. He is absolutely judging you. Ten out of ten every time.
The recipe lives in Epic Eats, and it is one of those things that looks wildly impressive and is genuinely very doable. Even my husband, who will not take credit for anything that happens in the kitchen, has started referring to it as “our cheeseball.” That is the highest compliment I have ever received.

Millennium Falcon Boursin
This one was a new addition this year and I am so glad I went for it. I used this mold set which is an absolute multipack of Star Wars dreams, and pressed Boursin cheese directly into the Millennium Falcon mold. The key thing I learned immediately is that Boursin is a very soft cheese and will absolutely not hold its form at room temperature. You have to freeze it for about an hour after pressing it into the mold. Once it comes out though, the detail is beautiful and it holds its shape even after you take it out and let it come back to temperature for serving. It looks like you did something incredibly complicated. You did not. The mold did the work.
Han Solo in Carbonite Dark Chocolates
These are the detail that made people stop and stare. I used the same mold set linked above, poured dark chocolate into the Han Solo in carbonite molds, let them set, and then brushed them with silver luster dust. If you have been following along with the Marvel cookbook content, you know silver luster dust and I have a whole history together. It showed up on the Avengers Assemble Pie and the Lightning Strike Brownie, and now it is showing up on chocolate Han Solo. This is my villain era apparently. The chocolates are rich, slightly dramatic, and exactly right for a Star Wars board.

Tie Fighter Cheese and Crackers
This is the detail that looks the most complicated and is genuinely the silliest to make. I cut semi-firm cheese into small rectangles for the cockpit, then pressed hexagon shaped crackers into either side to create the solar panels of a Tie Fighter. That is it. That is the whole trick. They stood upright on the board and looked completely intentional and I felt like a genius.

Lightsaber Fruit Skewers
Green grapes and red raspberries threaded onto skewers to create the blade, with a printed lightsaber handle slipped onto the bottom of each skewer. I found a free printable on Google, cut them out, and wrapped them around the base. The result is two crossed lightsabers running down the center of the board, one green and one red, dark side versus light side, and it is the visual centerpiece that ties the whole thing together. If you have the time for one extra detail on a Star Wars board, this is the one.
The Rest of the Galaxy
Around all of that I filled in with sliced cucumber for a pop of fresh color, cubed cheese with little star shaped cutouts pressed into the tops, salami roses, a small pot of hummus, a pot of fig jam, and roasted almonds scattered in for crunch. The fig jam next to the salami and the sharper cheeses is a combination that sounds unexpected and is completely addictive. The almonds are there for texture and because a board without something crunchy feels incomplete.
The whole thing went into the portable board case, clicked shut, and was ready to carry to the coffee table the moment we pressed play.
