I’ll be honest: when I was a kid, the original IT was the reason I didn’t trust clowns, circuses, or storm drains for an entire decade. It had that campy horror vibe, but it still shook me. Fast forward to watching the remake as an adult? Literal chills. I had to pause more than once to collect myself (and maybe turn on a few extra lights).

Naturally, when planning my Halloween dinner and a movie series, IT had to be on the list. The mix of creepy nostalgia, sinister carnival energy, and blood-red everything makes it the perfect inspiration for a spooky themed movie night.

🎬 Appetizer: Georgie’s Blood Bath Popcorn

If Pennywise offered this popcorn in the sewer, I might’ve actually followed him.

This eerie snack starts with classic buttery movie popcorn and gets a sinister drizzle of sweet “blood” (aka red candy melts). It’s crunchy, creepy, and weirdly irresistible. Serve it in a striped popcorn box for the full theater-meets-hell effect.

🌭 Main Course: Killer Corn Dogs & Bloody Fries

What’s a creepy carnival without corndogs?

These golden corn dogs are drizzled with red ketchup to mimic blood splatter, because if Georgie had made it to the fair, he definitely would’ve dropped one mid-run. The fries? Seasoned to perfection and smothered in more “bloody” ketchup for a dish that looks like a crime scene but tastes like heaven.

Bonus: serve in checkered baskets for those nostalgic fair food vibes.

🎪 Dessert: Pennywise’s Funnel of Blood

These funnel cakes were almost too realistic.

Crispy, golden, and drenched in red raspberry or strawberry sauce (your choice), these look like they were made straight in the Derry sewers. I topped each with a red gumball balloon to make it extra unsettling. You’ll feel like you’re at the fair…if the fair was run by a demonic clown who feeds on fear and funnel cake.

🍹Drink: You’ll Float Too (Cocktail + Mocktail)

This drink is a whole experience. Bright red, bloody sweet, and topped with a puff of cotton candy and a cherry-red gumball balloon on a striped straw.

Both versions (alcoholic and non) are layered for that carnival color pop. It’s fun, theatrical, and absolutely TikTok-worthy. Trust me, you’re going to want to film the pour.

🎃 Setting the Scene

We lit the candles, cranked up the fog machine, and let Philips Hue lights turn the room blood red. We even started the night with Georgie’s death scene paused on screen—because why not set the tone early?

This was one of our favorite Halloween dinner nights to date. It was creepy, campy, and just plain fun. Whether you’re watching the original or the remake, this menu turns your living room into Derry’s deadliest carnival.
