IT-Themed Snack Board for a Spooky Movie Night

We’ve made about 25 movie-inspired snack boards now, and I am SO excited to finally create them for Halloween! I hadn’t started making snack boards yet when Halloween came around last year – and honestly, spooky movies give us way too many fun food ideas to work with.
The 2017 version of IT scared the absolute bajeebus out of me, so naturally, I had to turn it into a snack board. Because apparently my response to being terrified is…snacks. 😅

Ironically, I created this board on the same day Tim Curry passed away. It didn’t even cross my mind until after I had finished creating and filming everything. It feels like such a missed opportunity to memorialize the original Pennywise, but it also makes this board feel a little more meaningful. May he rest in peace.

The Inspiration for This IT Snack Board
This entire board was inspired by the sewer scene where Pennywise talks to Georgie about the circus – and all the carnival food, including hot dogs, peanuts, cotton candy, and popcorn.
That scene basically handed me the menu!
Here is everything I added:
- Pop Pop Popcorn
- Derry Dogs
- Red velvet cupcakes
- Marshmallow peanuts
- Cotton candy
- Georgie’s Raincoat candy
- “You’ll Float Too” strawberry ice cream floats
I also created printable food tags for the board. You can download those for free at the bottom of this post!
Pop Pop Popcorn and Derry Dogs
Of course, we had to start with popcorn! I served it in retro popcorn boxes to give the whole board a creepy carnival feel.
Next, I added hot dogs and called them Derry Dogs. No complicated recipe needed here – just make your favorite hot dogs and add the printable tag.

Pennywise Cupcakes and Carnival Candy
For the cupcakes, I grabbed red velvet cupcakes from my local Kroger. Then I added printable cupcake picks using graphics from this Etsy set .
I filled the rest of the board with marshmallow peanuts and pink cotton candy. I also used yellow gummy candy to represent Georgie’s raincoat.
Nothing on this board is difficult to make. The details and food tags do most of the work – which is exactly what we want for an easy Halloween movie night.
“You’ll Float Too” Strawberry Floats
The “You’ll Float Too” ice cream floats may be my favorite part of the entire board.
I added strawberry ice cream to round glasses and poured strawberry Fanta over the top. Then I finished each float with a red-and-white striped straw and a “You’ll Float Too” graphic from the same Etsy set.

They’re sweet, creepy, and ridiculously easy to put together.
Set Up Your IT Movie Night
Once everything was ready, I arranged it on a large black serving tray with popcorn scattered underneath to fill the empty spaces. I added candles, carnival-style popcorn containers, red lighting, and our movie-night sign to complete the setup.

This IT-themed snack board is easy enough for a movie night at home but would also be so much fun for a Halloween party. Just be warned: strawberry floats will not make Pennywise any less terrifying. I checked.
