Why I Chose This Movie

I’ll be honest, this one was totally my pick, not my husband’s.
He flat-out said, “I don’t know how anyone could eat during that movie.”
Fair enough.

But BBQ is my jam, and when I think of rural Texas, I think smoke, sauce, and unapologetically messy comfort food.
So instead of leaning into the gore, I leaned into the flavor.
I went full Southern BBQ mode and made a meal that would make any horror fan and pitmaster proud.

Everything was made from scratch, including homemade pickles and spicy BBQ sauce. It was a total labor of love, and maybe a touch of madness.

Chainsaw Charcuterie Bites

We started with Chainsaw Charcuterie Bites, tiny skewers stacked with mini cocktail weenies, cubes of cheese, pickles, and cherry tomatoes, finished with a drizzle of “BBQ blood.”

They stood upright on the platter, looking a little like hanging meat from a butcher’s shop, but in the least creepy way possible.
It was backyard BBQ meets horror movie prop, the perfect mix of playful and spooky.

Butcher’s Block Ribs

For the main event, I fired up the Butcher’s Block Ribs, fall-off-the-bone ribs glazed in my homemade BBQ sauce.
They were smoky, sweet, spicy, and absolutely finger-lickin’ good.
If Leatherface had traded his chainsaw for a smoker, this is what he would have served.

Butcher’s Beans

No Texas BBQ is complete without beans, so my Butcher’s Beans were slow-baked in a thick, rich sauce that clung to the spoon and warmed the soul, even during one of the most chilling movies ever made.

Corn on the cob might seem innocent until you drizzle it with hot sauce and call it Carnage Corn.
This buttery, spicy side added the perfect kick and a splash of bloody color to the plate.

Next came my House of Horrors Potatoes, my famous twice-baked potatoes that I’ve been perfecting for almost twenty years.
These are the ones everyone asks me to make again and again, and I totally get why.
Crispy skin, fluffy inside, gooey cheese, and smoky bacon made these pure potato perfection.

Final Slice Berry Cheesecake

For dessert, we ended on a killer note with the Final Slice Berry Cheesecake.
A creamy, classic cheesecake topped with a glossy, “bloody” berry sauce that dripped dramatically down the sides.
It looked gory, but in the most delicious way possible.

Sweet, tart, and totally indulgent, this dessert was the perfect finale to a feast that would make even Leatherface smile.

Leatherface Lemonade

Every good movie night needs a good drink, so for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre dinner and a movie – To wash it all down, we had Leatherface Lemonade, a refreshing and slightly twisted cocktail made with lemonade and macerated strawberries for that signature gory red swirl.

Each glass was rimmed with “bloody” syrup and topped with a mini toy chainsaw for garnish.
It was equal parts creepy and cute, which pretty much sums up my entire approach to Halloween entertaining.
